Dear AREA White Caucus Participants:

Beginning in June and continuing for the next several months of caucus, we will draw upon two documents (down below) describing characteristics of white supremacy culture. Both are drawn from the work of Tema Okun and Kenneth Jones.

Our goal is to tackle one characteristic each month.

We ask that you print both articles and review them prior to our next meeting on June 8th at 5:30pm. Please plan to have them next to you when we meet.
Each month, we will use the questions below to guide our discussion about the characteristic we are addressing. For June, we will be addressing individualism.

Give some thought ahead of caucus to each of these questions:
1)  Identify how individualism shows up in yourself?  Both positively and negatively?2) How does white supremacy culture harm our community?  Who does it harm?  How?3) How can we actively recognize and counter white supremacy culture and become more relational in our community?
